Join Us Our Mission in Action United Way of Tarrant County, JPS, THR, BSW Announce Launch of First-in-Texas Maternal Health Initiative 05/09/24 UWTC announced today a groundbreaking maternal health initiative, TeamBirth, to ensure every person giving birth in Tarrant County has a voice in their care. To an audience of more than 400 in attendance at the annual Women United Investing in Impact Luncheon, UWTC President and CEO, Leah M. King announced that seven hospitals within the JPS Hospital Network, Texas Health Resources and Baylor Scott & White will be among the first TeamBirth cohort in the state of Texas. UWTC Women United Announce 2024 Impact Award Grantees 05/10/24 During the fourth annual Investing in Impact luncheon United Way of Tarrant County’s Women United announced three local organizations will receive a total of $75,000 from the Women’s Impact Fund. The 2024 grantees, FlyGirlz Academy Inc., Fortress Fort Worth and Team Iam HER, represent a diverse group dedicated to serving women and girls. Turning Tragedy into Action: Local Mother Uses Her Pain for Good During White House Visit 04/25/24 Melinda Hamilton is a mother on a mission. She tragically lost her daughter, brother, and grandson to gun violence. Her pain fuels her advocacy work, so when the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention asked her to share her story, Melinda graciously accepted the invitation.
